APR.Intern - EPA Victoria
Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is a Victorian government organisation that works to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of pollution and waste on Victoria’s environment and people. EPA works with community, industry and businesses.
We are seeking an intern to apply your research skills on a real world problem that will contribute to a greater understanding of what microplastics represent as the greatest environmental concern in Victoria and what mitigation strategies may be available to reduce adverse impacts.

PLASTICS AND MICROPLASTICS – SOURCE CONTROL AND MITIGATION
Plastic is a ubiquitous part of modern life, but it has the potential to cause harm to the environment and human health if not effectively regulated.
EPA Victoria has completed preliminary analysis on the risks to the environment and human health from plastics and microplastics.
EPA aims to address key knowledge gaps relating to high-use plastics and microplastics in circulation within Victoria.

If you’re a PhD student and meet some or all the below we want to hear from you. We strongly encourage women, indigenous and disadvantaged candidates to apply:
- Proficient in translating technical information into plain language.
- Understanding of chemical pollutants and associated risks to the environment and human health.
- Demonstrated ability in delivery of collaborative projects with clear and targeted outcomes.
- Experience in completing independent research, particularly relating to materials or green chemistry would be desirable.
