Description

Are you a second, third or fourth year university student?

Gain experience in conducting health research through the ACT Health Vacation Study Program.

The program involves a 6-week placement at Canberra Health Services or ACT Health.

Who can join

The program is open to second, third and fourth year students who are studying in any discipline that can impact health.  Examples include:

  • medicine
  • medical science
  • nursing and midwifery
  • allied health
  • health economics
  • epidemiology
  • biostatistics
  • population health
  • information technology.

Key dates

  • Student applications open 19 August 2024.
  • Student applications close 9 September 2024.
  • Students notified of outcome 17 September 2024.
  • Placements are any 6-week period between November 2024 and February 2025.
  • Pre-placement workshop 24 October 2024.
  • Research development skills workshops: TBA.
  • Final student presentation 7 February 2025.
  • Final reports due 20 February 2025.

How to apply

Submit your project application form by 5pm Monday 9 September.

Students may apply for up to 4 projects but can only complete one placement.

This placement is based in Canberra and successful students will be required to attend the face-to-face components.
