New masters students
How to enrol and other useful information for new postgraduate students.
Welcome to the Australian National University!
If you have recently accepted your offer to ANU, you should have received a Welcome email with your ANU student ID and your password. You may also have received an email from us either from the College of Health & Medicine or the College of Science with further details regarding your program convener and contact details.
In brief, the first step to enrolling in your new program is to seek academic advice in order to discuss the courses you will be studying.
If you are unsure who to contact for advice, you can find the academic contact on the Programs and Courses page for your program. Ideally you should have sought advice and enrolled before week 1 of the semester.
If you have been granted credit in your letter of offer, or think you may be eligible for credit, it is important that you discuss this with your program convener when making your course choices. You will need to complete the application for credit transfer and take this with you to your meeting along with all relevant academic transcripts.
You may find you require a permission code to enrol in some courses. If the course is offered by the school running your program, please contact the School Administrator. If the course is offered by a different school, you will need to contact the relevant Course Convener as detailed on the Programs and Courses website.
Once you have enrolled in all courses please check the unit value for each course. If the unit value is incorrect, please email the your College for assistance.
Do not forget to complete the remaining steps for enrolment detailed on the Enrol for the first time as a coursework student page. We have also put together a quick enrolment checklist (pdf, 135 KB) that you can work through.
If you have any questions or queries or require any assistance during the enrolment process please do not hesitate to contact your College or your relevant School Administrator.
