About

CCRM Australia is the Australian Hub of a global network of centres for commercialisation of regenerative medicine modelled on the highly successful Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine in Canada.

Established as a not for profit with a national focus, CCRM Australia’s mission is to address bottlenecks in the translation and commercialisation of regenerative medicine discoveries in Australia, many of which have the potential to cure some of the most devastating and costly diseases in the world today.

The current Global Centre for Commercialisation of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM) network consists of hubs in Canada, Australia and Sweden (CCRM Nordic), and is expected to grow. Each hub’s mission is to leverage its local ecosystem and assist in the commercialisation of advanced therapies within its own jurisdiction.

Nevertheless, there are potential benefits from collaboratively leveraging the expertise and capabilities of each hub to address grand challenges or achieve network efficiencies.

The objectives of the project are to:

  • research and understand the advanced therapies capabilities in Australia, Canada and Sweden
  • identify key strengths of each hub
  • propose activities for collaboration
  • explore potential hub structures and governance
