An ANU science degree will give you the skills that are important in every workplace: an inquiring mind, attention to detail, familiarity with data and technology, as well as an analytical approach to problem solving and innovation.

Internships

An internship is an opportunity for you to work in an organisation on an agreed project for approximately 1–2 days a week for a semester. There may also be opportunities for intensive internships during semester breaks, where you would work 4 or 5 days per week over 3 or 4 weeks.

Internship projects are available at different levels, to undergraduates (SCNC2000/SCNC3000), postgraduates (SCNC8000) and research candidates (SCNC8001). To be eligible for an internship:

  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 48 units, have a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.5, and have space in your degree
  • Coursework postgraduate students must have approval from their Program Convener

Australian National Internships Program

Experience the heart of Australian policy-making and politics through a research project with the Australian National Internships Program (ANIP). ANIP internships are open to current undergraduate and postgraduate students from all academic disciplines.
