This two-week intensive study tour offers students a chance to gain insight into the public health sector in Indonesia. Students will learn from leading health professionals and discuss approaches to health issues with Indonesian university students. The virtual tour will be facilitated by a leading academic in the field of public health who possesses specialised knowledge of Indonesia. Students from the following disciplines are welcome to apply; Public Health, Epidemiology, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, and Health Sciences.

  • 2nd – 15th July 2022 (orientation 29th June)

ANU Credit available: 6 units, SCNC1002

Total Cost: $2,500

NCP Grants Available: $2,500

Program Inclusions: Seminars, tutorials and guided activities (28 hours), virtual field trips, Indonesian language classes and interactive cultural activities (26 hours), group discussions and presentations in collaboration with University of Indonesia students (16 hours), reflective journal writing (8 hours), and independent study (32 hours)

No background in Indonesian language is required to participate in the programs

 

Grant Eligibility

You may be eligible to receive a $2,500 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. Click here to see if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Please note that under the terms of the amended New Colombo Plan guidelines, Australian university students who have previously received an NCP mobility grant to support in-country study in the Indo-Pacific remain eligible to receive an additional grant to support their participation in a virtual NCP experience. Further to this, a student who receives a grant for a virtual NCP experience will still be eligible to receive a grant for an in-country study experience in the future.

There is no separate application for a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. All students are strongly encouraged to apply and will have their eligibility to receive a grant assessed as part of the application process.
