Project Opportunities/Benefits for the Intern |
The student will gain experience in conducting background research to inform larger research projects, engaging with stakeholders, and synthesising information to inform strategic decision making and addressing duplication of activities. |
Summary:
To develop a compilation of current food waste reduction activity in Australia:
- Review current state and federal initiatives that impact food waste
- Map activities to the 23 interventions identified in the FIAL National food waste strategy feasibility study
- Review current private sector food waste reduction activities – publicly stated targets, goals or objectives
- Map those activities to the 23 interventions identified in the FIAL National food waste strategy feasibility study
- Review current food industry sector group and NFP organisation food waste initiatives – eg OzHarvest’s Fight food waste
- Map those activities to the 23 interventions identified in the FIAL National food waste strategy feasibility study
- Compile above mapping activities in a single document, presented in the most appropriate format
Regular meetings will be established with the Australian Food Pact team.
