We’ve been a leading provider of relationship support since 1948, and offer services to individuals, couples, families, communities and workplaces across NSW from 21 locations. We see clients face-to-face, via phone and online. We’re here for people of all cultural backgrounds, genders, ages, sexual orientations, and family structures, and offer a number of culturally adapted services in other languages. Project Opportunities/Benefits for the Intern

The student will get the opportunity to work as part of a highly dynamic and supportive research team in the not-for-profit sector. This will give them a direct workplace experience. In addition, the student will be supported to develop their scientific literacy and skills, both in terms of methods, but also for the topic area they select.

Aim

With this project we will scope the literature regarding relationship management psychometric scales.

Context

Relationships Australia NSW uses theory of change models to inform our impact evaluation design. With our organisation wide theory of change we articulated two key outcomes for all clients seeking support from any of our interventions; improved personal wellbeing, and relationship management. As such, our client impact evaluation instrument needs to capture data related to these two outcomes. While we are able to capture personal wellbeing data from our clients using the Personal Well Being Index, we are not aware of a similar psychometric instrument for relationship management. This project will support the RASNW Research and Impact team to decide if there is an appropriate instrument available or, if not, be the basis for the development of a new scale.
