Project Opportunities/Benefits for the InternThe student will gain experience in conducting background research to inform larger research projects, working with and presenting to producer and government stakeholders.

Summary:

One of the key themes of The Sheep Sustainability Framework is enhancing the environment and climate. Understanding technologies to reduce methane emissions from sheep is fundamental to help farmers to know what to do now and for researchers to know what else to investigate. Currently the best we can do in reducing methane is 30%. We need more technological innovations that are practical to administer, working in with existing farm management systems.

This project is about compiling current technologies that reduce methane production in sheep. The student will conduct a literature review, document proven and emerging methane reduction technologies and highlight likely gaps to discuss with key stakeholders.
